So happy my bride is going with this beautiful color and flower selection for her May 2010 wedding. It will look stunning out the North Shore estate location. The green flowers may be cymbidium orchids in her bouquet.

WEDDING PLACE CARD IDEAS

Over the many years we have been doing weddings in Hawaii, we have collected many innovative ideas for place cards. These ideas have been collected through our own Internet searches, and through photos sent to us from our clients. Our clients appreciate these ideas and often tweak them to make them "their own" to reflect the theme of their own wedding. Enjoy these ideas! Hope they are useful!

O'o Farm on Maui

I recommend that everyone experience this unique opportunity to visit and dine at the O'o Farm. Located in Upcountry Maui, the 8.5 acre diversified organic farm is owned and operated by the Pacific’O and I’O restaurants at 505 Front Street in Lahaina. The guests listen, touch, and feel as the listen to explanations of the farms purpose and functions.

During the tour, everyone harvests various foods from the farm that are then used by the chef to prepare the lunch meal.

I recommend you bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with a most magnificent meal that is prepared fresh for you on site. Dining in this rustic and breathtaking setting is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that is unique to Maui. I too my mom as a birthday gift. Kama'aina rates are available.

This is also a fantastic place to have your wedding; ceremonies and/or receptions are welcome. The views from this lush location are fabulous. It is certainly a unique location, and isn't that why you do a destination wedding????

Friends Visit Me in Hawaii

Since I rarely have time to see my friends when on the Mainland, they always let me know when they are on island so we can get together in Hawaii. Here I am enjoying a wonderful dinner at Roy's in Hawaii Kai. I love the food and the service there. They are always so professional and kind. Zamir always takes amazing care of my clients who I send there, and they are always beyond satisfied.

Aqua-Orange Wedding Stationary

Beach Theme Event

I had the privilege of planning and creating my best friend's son decor for his Bar Mitzvah. Here are some ideas for planning a beach themed event.

Place Cards:
Place cards were placed on mini-Adirondack chairs that guests could later use as frames.  I then used a huge bag of sand and made a "beach" on the table. I placed paper umbrellas typically used for drinks into the top of the chair. Shells were hot-glued onto long, thin pieces of balsa wood to create a border on the table.  Everyone easily found their names, as they were lined up in alphabetical order.

Centerpieces were glass vases filled with blue sand and shells. A white taper candle was placed in the center. I tied raffia around the vase to embellish it, yet still keeping it masculine. I had my friend purchase votive candle holders that were light blue sand pails with carved out tropical designs; these illuminated when the tea lights were lit. White dendrobium orchid heads were purchased and shipped over from Hawaii, then scattered around the centerpieces on the tables. All were placed on a lauhala woven mat brought home from Hawaii, and shells were added as a final touch.

I made a card/cash box for collection. This is much easier than having someone in charge of collecting and holding these all night.
A Bar Mitzvah boy at his reception does a candle-lighting. So, to add a nice touch and keep within the theme, I used white tapers, mini surfboards, raffia, and wooden letters that I painted. I placed these in small glass taper holders. I decorated the table with fish nets, shells, etc.

The guest book was actually a wake board and Sharpies. This way, he has something he can keep and hang in his room, which is also beach themed.
Little touches of shell candles with shell holders and orchids were placed around the room.
